Super smoothies

Smoothies are a great way to increase your fruit, green veg and calcium intake.  They make a great snack. We eat dinner early so often have one in the evenings.

Dinosaur smoothie
Not just for kids!

Serves 2
- 1 banana
-  300ml lite milk
- 1 handful spinach or kale (stalks removed)
- 2 heaped tablespoons plain, reduced fat yoghurt (check ingredients list, should contain only lite milk and bacteria (a lactobacillus).

To make a monster smoothie add 1/2 cup blueberries.
Try different combinations of fruit and green leaves.
Try adding some nuts or seeds. You can add a little honey if you wish but I never have so we are all used to it without the extra sweetness.

Method

  1. Wash greens
  2. Place all ingredients in blender
  3. Blend for 1 minute

You can use a hand bar mix if you don't have a blender.
